Nag Panchami : 25 July, 2020: Shukla Paksha Panchami Tithi during Sawan month is observed as Nag Panchami.

Bhagwat Gita: Chapter 10, Verse 29

अनन्तश्चास्मि नागानां वरुणो यादसामहम् |
पितृणामर्यमा चास्मि यम: संयमतामहम् || 29||

Amongst the Nagas I am Anant; amongst aquatics I am Varun. Amongst the departed ancestors I am Aryama; amongst dispensers of law I am Yamraj.
Its also auspicious day for performing Kal Sarp dosha Nivaran Puja & Rahu Puja. Shri Naag Stotra is recited in praise of Nagas

श्री नाग स्तोत्र

अगस्त्यश्च पुलस्त्यश्च वैशम्पायन एव च ।
सुमन्तुजैमिनिश्चैव पञ्चैते वज्रवारका: ॥१॥

मुने: कल्याणमित्रस्य जैमिनेश्चापि कीर्तनात् ।
विद्युदग्निभयं नास्ति लिखितं गृहमण्डल ॥२॥

अनन्तो वासुकि: पद्मो महापद्ममश्च तक्षक: ।
कुलीर: कर्कट: शङ्खश्चाष्टौ नागा: प्रकीर्तिता:॥३॥

यत्राहिशायी भगवान् यत्रास्ते हरिरीश्वर:।

भङ्गो भवति वज्रस्य तत्र शूलस्य का कथा ॥४॥

॥ इति श्रीनागस्तोत्रम् सम्पूर्णम् ॥

It is believed that any Puja offered to Naga’s would reach the Naga Gods; following twelve are worshipped during Nag Panchami Puja:
Ananta, Vasuki, Shesha, Padma, Kambala, Karkotaka, Ashvatara, Dhritarashtra, Shankhapala, Kaliya, Takshaka, Pingala
Nag Panchami Puja Mantra

सर्वे नागाः प्रीयन्तां मे ये केचित् पृथ्वीतले।
ये च हेलिमरीचिस्था येऽन्तरे दिवि संस्थिताः॥
ये नदीषु महानागा ये सरस्वतिगामिनः।
ये च वापीतडगेषु तेषु सर्वेषु वै नमः॥

Mantra Translation – May the snakes who are staying in this world, sky, heaven, Sun-Rays, Lakes, Wells, Ponds and Underground dwellings bless us & We Salute you all.

अनन्तं वासुकिं शेषं पद्मनाभं च कम्बलम्।
शङ्ख पालं धृतराष्ट्रं तक्षकं कालियं तथा॥
एतानि नव नामानि नागानां च महात्मनाम्।
सायङ्काले पठेन्नित्यं प्रातःकाले विशेषतः।

तस्य विषभयं नास्ति सर्वत्र विजयी भवेत्॥

Mantra Translation – The names of nine Nag Devtas are Ananta, Vasuki, Shesha, Padmanabha, Kambala, Shankhapala, Dhritarashtra, Takshaka and Kaliya. When chanted regularly every day in evening and especially in the morning, will protect you from all evils and make you victorious in life.
Naga’s are a highly developed culture existing since ancient India.
now they live underground below the mountains. Mahabharata Adi Parva Cap. 31; 52; 59, Sabha Parva book 2 Cap. 9 describe Nagas.
Udyoga Parva Book V chapter 101 describes The capital of the Nagas , which was beneath the waters, its name is” Bhogawati Valmiki Ramayana Uttarkand 23, 5 mentions Bhogawat Nagri Ruled by Naga King Vasuki.
Their Civilization is most ancient they can travel to different dimensions. Earlier they used to maintain links with humans on earth, but due to effects of Kaliyuga, they now avoid human civilization as do most Devi Devtas.
