Naga’s are a highly developed culture existing since ancient India. , now they live underground below the mountains. Mahabharata Adi Parva Cap. 31; 52; 59, Sabha Parva book 2 Cap. 9 describe Nagas.

Udyoga Parva Book V chapter 101 describes The capital of the Nagas, which was beneath the waters, its name is” Bhogawati”.

Valmiki Ramayana Uttarkand 23, 5 mentions Bhogawat Nagri Ruled by Naga King Vasuki.

Their Civilization is most ancient they can travel to different dimensions. Earlier they used to maintain links with humans on earth, but due to effects of Kaliyuga, they now avoid human civilization as do most Devi Devtas.
